
A Brandenburg man is facing a murder charge along with other charges after a shooting along Atwell Street Thursday (3/4) night.
According to authorities, the Meade County E911 Center received a call around 9:30 pm Thursday from a 10 year-old stating that his mother and her dog had been shot. When police arrived at the residence of 181 Atwell Street in Brandenburg, the child came out of the house onto the porch followed by 45 year-old Christopher Pollock. When policed asked if Pollock knew who had shot his wife, he stated that he had shot her. Pollock was armed and went to reach for his weapon prompting officers to detain him. During a struggle, Pollock kicked an officer in the face resulting in Pollock to be tased and taken into custody.
During an interview with police, Pollock admitted to shooting his wife, Mary and dog while the 10 year-old child was in the house. Pollock is charged with murder- domestic violence; resisting arrest; assault 3rd degree; wanton endangerment 1st degree; and cruelty to animals second degree. Pollock is lodged in the Meade County Detention Center on a $100,000 cash bond. The case remains under investigation by the Brandenburg Police, with assistance by Kentucky State Police.
