
New details were released regarding Wednesday’s (5/19) shooting along Fairgrounds Road in Hardinsburg.
According to the Hardinsburg Police Department, 60 year-old Charles G. Carwile of Irvington and 29 year-old Harold Lacefield of Hardinsburg got into a verbal, then physical confrontation over finances on the yard at Home Place Assisted Living in the midday hour on Wednesday when Carwile shot Lacefield in the chest. A man with Lacefield, 48-year-old Denver Ammons, shot and wounded Carwile in the chest.
Both Carwile and Lacefield were taken to University of Louisville Hospital, where Carwile died from his injuries. Lacefield was listed in serious but stable condition as of Thursday (5/20) morning. Ammons was not injured.
No charges have been filed, but the matter will be turned over to the Breckinridge County Grand Jury for review.
