A social media posting by a former Meade County School teacher has led police and school officials to launch an investigation into a former Meade County High School coach.
The Meade County Sheriff Department says the investigation began after a post on social media allegedly from Rob Williams talking about an inappropriate relationship with a student and along with sending inappropriate text messages to other students as part of a conversation on social media.
Officials with Meade County Schools said Friday that Williams was a basketball coach and a substitute at Meade County High School a year ago.
Parents say they took screen shots of Williams’ alleged post before it was taken down. Meade County Sheriff says its investigation has now been turned over to Kentucky State Police.
In the statement from the school district, officials said that Williams resigned from his position as substitute teacher and assistant basketball coach in March 2015. School officials say they will fully cooperate with the police investigation and maintain student safety.
