A man died when he was hit by a train early Sunday morning.
It happened at about 5 a.m. near the intersection of Westport Road and St. Matthews Avenue.
Police said the victim was sitting between the tracks when the train approached. The conductor locked the brakes but was unable to stop in time.
Officers at the scene said they smelled alcohol but investigators have not determined what actually happened.
