Patricia Barlow was sentenced to 18 months in prison for committing three counts of wire fraud, and was ordered to pay $274,846 restitution to Scottsville Baptist church Wednesday afternoon.
Barlow pleaded guilty in November of 2015 to embezzling from the church, where she was employed, over a period of ten years.
The stolen money had been used for luxuries she and her family would not have been able to afford otherwise, such as vacations, jewelry, clothes, and trips to beauty salons.
Barlow was a Secretary and Office Administrator, according to the church, beginning in 2005. The church said shortly after that she began making personal purchases using the church credit card.
The fraud was discovered by Scottsville Baptist Church in the spring of 2015.
