Kentucky State Police responded to a call of a body being found in the burned ruins of a town house on Watson Road in Columbia around noon Sunday.
Adair County and Columbia Fire Departments had responded to a report of a vehicle fire the day before (Saturday, 4/2/16) at that same address.
Police say it wasn’t until noon Sunday that the owner of the town house went back in to the burnt home and located the body.
KSP says the body was sent for an autopsy and identification by the Kentucky State Medical Examiner’s Office.
KSP Troopers were assisted at the scene by Adair County Sheriff’s Department, Columbia Police Department, Adair County Coroner’s Office, Adair County and Columbia Fire Department.
The investigation is ongoing by detectives from the Kentucky State Police Post 15.
