A murder suspect was granted a lower bond Saturday because his attorney says he cooperated with police before his arrest, and turned himself in.
Demarcus Lashawn Briggs, 20, is charged with the shooting death of 25-year-old Brennan Hayes last month in Louisville.
He was arraigned Saturday morning. That’s when Briggs’ attorney said his client’s car was confiscated by police during the investigation and he has been cooperating ever since and is not a flight risk.
The judge cut Briggs’ bond in half, lowering it to $50,000 full cash.
