Louisville Metro Police have arrested a man accused of several charges including sodomy, assault and sexual abuse.
Joshua Vance, 29, was arrested Friday following an incident that occurred on Thursday, April 7.
Police say Vance and the alleged victim began to argue about a phone.
Authorities say Vance allegedly punched the victim several times in and around the face, choked her three times, cut her with a knife in two different places and threatened her with a baseball bat, then blocked the victim from escaping the residence.
According to investigators, Vance gave a taped statement admitting to the offenses. He appeared in court on Saturday morning.
Vance is also charged with terroristic threatening, wanton endangerment and unlawful imprisonment.
He is being held at Metro Corrections on a $100,000 cash bond.
