Officials responded to a report of a shooting on Massey Lane in Ohio County just before 2 a.m. Sunday.
A Sheriff’s Deputy and Kentucky State Police Trooper arrived on scene and found 41 year-old Kevin S. Marrett lying on the front yard near the porch. Police said he was dead when they arrived from “apparent gun shot wounds”.
The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office said the victim had been shot by a 17-year-old. Allegedly, the victim was shot by the juvenile while defending his father from Marrett, who was attacking him with a wood saw.
The investigation is ongoing as they determine if the juvenile will face charges.
