Grayson County Emergency Crews responded to a couple of motorcycle accidents within a few hours on Friday.
Authorities said the first accident happened around 2:30 Friday afternoon, near the Eveleigh Boat Ramp in the 8500 block of Brandenburg Road. The operator of the motorcycle, Charles Gamble of Stephensport, suffered moderate head injuries. He came around a curve and saw several cars stopped in the road as vehicles waited for a slowing car to turn right into the Eveleigh Boat Ramp entrance. Gamble was taken to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center by Grayson County EMS. He was not wearing a helmet.
A second accident involving a motorcycle happened just after 5 pm in the 2000 Block of Duff Road. The operator, 57 year-old Dale Liptak of Leitchfield, attempted to avoid a deer which caused him to lose control and run off the road into a ditch.
Liptak suffered severe road rash. Police say that Liptak was wearing a helmet that is credited with protecting him from life threatening injuries. He was taken to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center by Grayson County EMS for his injuries.
