Kentucky State Police are investigating a shooting that happened on I-69 at mile marker 110 just after 5 p.m. Saturday.
The initial investigation shows 38 year-old Robert Wilke of Henderson was repossessing a van on Russ Hill Road in Nortonville. The owner of the van, 49 year-old Tony Strunk of Nortonville, along with his son, 24 year-old Marcus Strunk also of Nortonville, chased him in their SUV.
The SUV pulled alongside the passenger side of the van and intentionally collided into Wilke, causing both vehicles to stop in the median of I-69. The Strunks got out of the SUV and approached the van. Robert Wilke exited the van with a gun, and a “physical altercation” occurred.
Wilke shot Tony Strunk in the abdomen during the altercation.
Strunk was flown by PHI Air Medical to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee for treatment.
The incident remains under investigation.
