The body of a teenager that went missing in Barren River Lake Monday was found Wednesday afternoon.
Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife found the body of 19 year-old David Heard of Alvaton who was last seen in his father’s boat, fishing on Barren River Lake, before he disappeared Monday Afternoon.
Rescue crews searched land and water for hours Monday and Tuesday.
The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife say they received the initial call from witnesses at 1:45 p.m. The witnesses reported they saw David Heard fishing on his boat, only to disappear minutes later.
Fish and Wildlife would describe the clarity of the water as nearly zero at the bottom. Rescue crews quickly started their search for Heard by running a grid pattern with side scan sonar. There also used cadaver dogs in the area, on the front of the boats, searching the area.
Fish and Wildlife say Heard’s father had spoken to him nearly an hour before he went missing.
