The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources is investigating a boat crash that happened on Lake Malone in Muhlenberg County on Friday night.
Gregory Brumfield, 48 of Russellville, was driving his boat southbound in the lake’s main channel. Zach Watkins, 25 also of Russellville, was also driving his boat southbound in the main channel.
Officials say that Brumfield’s boat struck Watkins’ boat from behind. They both came to a stop in the middle of the lake and were towed back to the dock.
Both Brumfield and Watkins were taken by Logan County EMS to Logan Memorial Hospital. Both men were transferred to TriStar Skyline Medical Center where they are both currently listed in serious, but stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing.
