The dean of Indiana University Southeast’s School of Business was arrested in Louisville this past week.
Police found 49-year-old Alan Jay White slumped over the wheel of a car Thursday night at 11th and Rowan streets in Louisville.
Officers say there was a dollar bill with a white powder on it in his front pocket. There was also a pill bottle in the car containing sleeping pills.
White is charged with possession of a controlled substance.
He was later served a warrant and charged with theft of an auto after, police say, he did not return a rental car in October of last year.
White, who has a Ph.D., is also listed as an associate professor of finance on the Indiana University Southeast’s website.
