A Louisville man has been charged with second-degree assault after hitting another man in the head with a piece of lumber, according to police.
Donald Stewart Jr.’s arrest report states he knocked on the door of a house in the 100 block of Oak Street on June 28, 2015. When the homeowner answered, Stewart entered the house unlawfully armed with a two-by-four, which he used to hit the man in the head. Stewart and the victim struggled until a witness called police and the suspect fled.
The victim received five surgical staples to close a laceration on his scalp.
