Two people are dead and three injured after a Saturday morning crash at the intersection of U.S. 31W and Ky. 84 in Sonora.
The crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. Saturday and involved and a Chevrolet car and a semi-truck. The truck impacted the passenger side of the car.
Two occupants in the car were pronounced dead at the scene and two others were transported by helicopter to a Louisville hospital. The driver of the truck was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown by Har¬din County EMS. The extent of the occupant’s injuries were unknown.
The intersection was closed for about five hours Saturday during investigation and clean-up. The road re-opened around 12:30 p.m.
The crash remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
