The Mt. Washington Fire Department says 13 saddlebred horses died in a barn fire Friday morning. Firefighters arrived at the barn around 10 a.m. on Woodland Avenue off of Bogard Lane in Bullitt County.
The barn was destroyed. Several fire departments assisted including Shepherdsville Fire, Fern Creek Fire, Southeast Bullitt Fire and Zoneton Fire. Bullitt County EMS was also on the scene.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation but the fire department says electrical problems may be the cause.
