Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital says some patient information, including names and addresses but not social security numbers, were accidentally released last week.
A press release from the hospital says an email was sent to participants in a support group. The email accidentally allowed some participants to see personal information about other participants, including names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and dates of surgeries. Some dates of birth were also released, but no social security numbers were included.
All patients whose information was released will receive a letter from the hospital. So far, they say there is no evidence that the information has been misused.
The hospital says they learned of the mistake on June 3 and an internal investigation found it was due to human error.
Any patients with a question can call (877) 247-6997 during normal business hours.
