A brief but severe storm caused thousands of dollars worth of damage in the St. Matthews area late Sunday afternoon.
The storm blew a large tree onto a home in the 4000 block of Napanee Road where a Debi and Pat Ziemer had just moved into a few hours earlier. The couple was uninjured but the house was deemed unlivable and the Ziemers are staying at a hotel temporarily.
Roads throughout the neighborhood were closed while crews cleaned up the storm damage.
