A firefighter was injured while working to put out flames inside a McDonald’s in Elizabethtown near the Towne Mall.
The fire was reported at the McDonald’s located at 1700 North Dixie Highway around 5 p.m. Thursday.
The supervisor on scene said one firefighter was taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital to be treated for heat exhaustion.
All of the employees and customers who were inside of the McDonald’s were able to exit safely.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
