Three suspects are in custody after a bank robbery and a high speed police pursuit that ended in the Highlands.
Louisville Metro Police Department spokesman Dwight Mitchell said around 4:30 p.m. Friday a man entered the Old National Bank in the 4200 block of Shelbyville Road, displayed a weapon and demanded money from the teller. The teller complied and the man left of foot, but he was caught by a police shortly after.
Two other suspects, who Mitchell said appeared to be waiting for the man who robbed the bank, were spotted by police. The suspects drove off and led police on a chase that came to an end in a neighborhood near the intersection of Tartan Lane and Fordyce Lane around 4:50 p.m.
The suspects ditched their vehicle in the backyard of a residence then took off on foot. At least one of the suspects was located in the 3000 block of Dundee Road at Atherton High School and taken into custody.
The LMPD Robbery Unit is investigating the case.
