A single vehicle accident along US 60 sent a Florida woman to the hospital Friday (7/1) afternoon.
According to Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened around 4 p.m. when a 2005 Chrysler convertible driven by Kathleen Roush of Florida was traveling west on US 60 at Sinking Creek Hill. She lost control of the car, crossed the center line and left the left side of the roadway. The car struck a rock wall causing Roush to be trapped in the vehicle.
Fire Crews from the Irvington Fire Department had to use the jaws of life to extricate Roush from the wreckage. She was treated at the scene by Breck Central EMS and was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital by Air Methods Air Ambulance for serious injuries.
Traffic was delayed or stopped about 45 minutes as crews worked to clean up the scene.
