Shepherdsville police are looking for a woman who ran over an officer late Sunday night.
Police say officers attempted to take 31 year-old Taira Litsey of Louisville into custody on an outstanding warrant in the 1500 block of Kentucky 44. Litsey fled the scene in her vehicle, dragging the arresting officer and running over his leg.
Litsey is a white female, approximately 5’4″, 130lbs with black hair and green eyes.
Police say the officer was treated and released from the hospital not long after the incident.
The officer’s body camera was rolling during the traffic stop at a Marathon gas station.
Litsey’s passenger was also caught on camera, who police identified as 28-year-old Logan Lamb.
On Monday, investigators recovered Litsey’s car abandoned in the 2000 block of KY 44, not far from the initial stop. Police believe Litsey may now be driving a stolen bronze 2002 Buick Park Avenue. Police say the car has a KY registration plate 540-ECY, has damage on the rear bumper, and has a Friends of Coal sticker. They hope pictures and video from the officer’s body camera will not only lead to a quick arrest, but be able to provide an exact account of what unfolded.
Litsey now faces first degree assault on a police officer and fleeing or evading.
