An Elizabethtown man struck by a truck on East Dixie Avenue Monday night is in critical condition at University Hospital in Louisville.
Danny R. Patterson, 59, was crossing the road near the Five Star Food Mart at 624 East Dixie Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle driven by 57 year-old William W. Tarter of Elizabethtown.
The vehicle came to rest about 100 feet beyond the traffic light, a black and white hat resting beside the older-model blue Ford F150 truck. The right part of the window of the truck was shattered from the collision.
Elizabethtown Police Department, Elizabethtown Fire Department, Hardin County EMS and the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
