A man who was charged in connection to the case of a missing Nelson County woman has been released from jail.
Danny Singleton, 53, pleaded guilty to 38 counts of false swearing and was sentenced to 360 days on Friday, according to the Nelson County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office.
He was released from the Hardin County Detention Center following his sentencing, according to Nelson County jailer Dorcas Figg. Figg said Singleton was being held in the Hardin County Detention Center due to conflicts of interest with relatives working in the Nelson County Jail.
Singleton was an employee of Brooks Houck, the boyfriend of Crystal Rogers. Rogers was reported missing July 3, 2015. Houck was named a suspect in her disappearance on October 16, 2015.
Houck’s brother, Nick Houck, was suspended from the Bardstown Police Department in September because of claims he interfered with and did not fully cooperate with the investigation into Rogers’ disappearance.
Singleton was taken into custody in December 2015 following testimony he made before a Nelson County grand jury on September 16, 2015.
On March 3, Singleton’s bond was lowered from $200,000 to $100,000.
On June 2, he appeared in Nelson County Circuit Court and asked for a dismissal from the case and an even lower bond. At the hearing the judge said he would consider Singleton’s requests since he had been jailed for six months at the time.
Rogers remains missing.
