Authorities say the bodies of two missing Kentucky men have been found near a trail in Oregon’s Mt. Hood National Forest.
The Hood River County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that two bodies were discovered Thursday evening off the Dog River Trail, south of Parkdale.
Investigators determined the bodies were those of 59 year-old John Kevin Wood and his 32 year-old son, Jason Anthony Wood, both of Nelson County, Kentucky.
US Forest Service workers in the area conducting a survey discovered the bodies.
The investigation is ongoing but the sheriff’s office says evidence at the scene indicates the men died as a result of a murder suicide.
