Authorities say a man died after a building partially collapsed in Louisville Friday afternoon.
The front of a building at the corner of 28th Street and Grand Avenue, in the city’s Parkland neighborhood, collapsed killing 71 year-old John Will Dozier.
Dozier was working on the front part of the building for the owner at the time of the collapse that spilled debris into the street.
There was also a secondary collapse, but it occurred away from firefighters that had responded to the collapse. The fire department submitted an emergency request to the city for demolition of the building, which will take a couple of days to clear the scene.
The collapse remains under investigation.
