
Cave City Police received a complaint from Bowling Green Police Department Monday (7/25) in reference to a stolen cell phone being tracked to a business in Cave City.
An officer located 2 subjects, matching the description given by the Bowling Green Police Department, at Pizza Hut on Mammoth Cave Street. Numerous stolen items were recovered, including personal identity information, credit cards, gift cards and cash, along with the stolen cell phone. The value of all stolen and fraudulently obtained items valued over $1500.
Amanda Hellenbeck, 19 of Rockford, Illinois, was charged with 2 counts of receiving stolen property and tampering with physical evidence.
Mario Navarro Jr., 26 also of Rockford, Illinois, was charged with 2 counts of complicity to receiving stolen property, complicity to tampering with physical evidence, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both subjects were lodged in the Barren County Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected to follow.
