Two Louisville gun stores have been victims of crash-and-grab robberies within 24 hours of each other this week.
On Wednesday (7/27), around 5 a.m., someone took a stolen Corvette and slammed it into Jack Tilford’s Discount Guns on Fern Valley Road. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives(ATF) says an undetermined number of firearms were stolen by the thieves who broke glass on the handgun display cases.
The next day a similar robbery occurred around 4:25 a.m. at the 111 Gun Shop on Hurstbourne Park Boulevard. The ATF says a pick-up truck crashed into the store and the thieves stole an undetermined number of firearms by breaking the glass on the handgun display cases as well.
The ATF and the National Shooting Sports Foundation are offering up to $10,000 each for information leading to an arrest in each case.
Anyone with information about these crimes should contact ATF at 1-800-ATF-GUNS (800-283-4867) or its Louisville division at 502-753-3400. All calls will be kept confidential.
