A U.S. Army soldier has been arrested and indicted for using the internet to solicit sex with a minor.
James Leroy Cayton, 37, a resident of Breckinridge County with a mailing address of Vine Grove, was arrested by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department on July 29 after being indicted by a grand jury 10 days earlier.
Investigators with the Kentucky Attorney General’s Cyber Crimes Unit said Cayton became the subject of an investigation that lasted several weeks after posting an online ad seeking sex with “any age.”
After taking online with an undercover investigator, Cayton, a military policeman at Fort Knox, was located with help from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Army Criminal Investigations Division.
Cayton has been released from jail after posting a partially secured $25,000 bond.
