A man stabbed his father in church Sunday morning in Bowling Green, according to police.
At 10:47 a.m. Sunday the Bowling Green Police Department received a call of a stabbing at Hillvue Heights Church during worship service, according to a press release. Upon arrival, officers determined 21-year-old Ethan A. Buckley stabbed his father with a pocketknife. According to police, churchgoers stopped the assault.
The victim was transported to The Medical Center at Bowling Green. His condition is unknown.
It’s uncertain what provoked Buckley to stab his father, according to Bowling Green Police Department. Witnesses told police the two men are not members of the church, they were visiting.
Although officials do not have an official motive, they believe it was an isolated incident and not an act of terrorism.
Buckley has been charged with first-degree assault (domestic violence) and is being held at the Warren County Regional Jail.
No other injuries were reported.
