
A Fort Campbell soldier was killed in Kuwait on Saturday.
1st Lt. Jeffrey D. Cooper, of Mill Creek, Washington, died as a result of a vehicle rollover accident while traveling from Camp Buehring, Kuwait to Ali Al Salem Airfield, according to a press release.
Cooper, 25, joined the Army in June of 2013 and arrived at Fort Campbell in July of 2015.
Cooper was an infantry officer assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). Cooper’s awards and decorations included the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
