Units from the McDaniels, Harned and Hardinsburg Fire Departments responded to a field and farm machinery fire Friday morning just before noon.
According to McDaniels Fire Chief David Poole, the fire occurred in a 7 acre hay field, owned by Ricky Cannon, off Morton Brown Lane, in Brown’s Hide-Away. The fire damaged a tractor, and burned a couple of round bales of hay, as well as hay that had been raked into windrows.
The fire may have been started by sparks from the hay rake.
There were no injuries and no structures were involved.
Firefighters were on scene for about 2 hours.
