
An Edmonson County woman was killed after stopping to assist at the scene of an accident near the Breckinridge-Grayson County line early Friday (10/21) morning.
Units were called to Highway 737 at the Peter Cave bridge around 5:30.
According to Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Department, the victim has been identified as 26-year-old Jacqueline Anaya of Brownsville. Anaya had stopped to help the victim of an accident a few minutes earlier when she was hit by another vehicle.
A Kentucky State Police accident re-constructionist was sent to scene to investigate. The Breckinridge and Grayson County Sheriff’s Department, Irvington Police, McDaniels Fire Department, Breckinridge County Coroner’s Office were among those to respond to the scene.
Highway 737 was shut down for much of the morning for the investigation.
