The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says a pharmacist from Kentucky has been indicted on charges that he submitted fraudulent claims for prescription medications to Medicare and TennCare.
Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said in a news release Tuesday that 56-year-old Joseph “Jess” Collins of Middlesboro, Kentucky, is accused of submitting hundreds of fraudulent claims between May 2008 and May 2013. The agency said Collins was employed at Woody’s Pharmacy in New Tazewell at the time.
A Claiborne County grand jury indicted Collins on October 26 on charges of TennCare fraud over $60,000, insurance fraud over $60,000 and computer crimes over $60,000.
Collins is free on $25,000 bond.
