Kentucky State Police say two bodies found inside a burning car in Butler County are officially murder victims.
In a press release Tuesday, Kentucky State Police said results from an autopsy have them investigating the case as a double murder.
At 5:10 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, state police were called by local Butler County authorities to investigate an incident on Region Reedyville Road.
A car was on fire just off the road and when it was put out, two bodies were found inside.
Police have yet to release any details from the autopsy, other than something has led them to classify this case as a double murder.
As of Tuesday, positive identification had not been confirmed on either body.
Police have not released any information related to cause of death in the case, or information on potential suspects.
This is the second double homicide investigation in Butler County in a four month span.
Kenneth and Dorothy Neafus were killed in their home on Richland Church Road August 9. Police believe they were killed the day before.
Kevin Dye was arrested nearly a month later and is currently in the Butler County Jail charged with their murders.
