Skeletal remains found recently in Casey County have been identified as those of a 24-year-old Russell County woman who went missing last year.
Kentucky State Police said in a news release Wednesday that state’s chief medical examiner identified Whitney Danielle Copley through dental records.
Copley’s body was found in a wooded area in Dunnville on Saturday (11/19). She was last seen in that area in September 2015.
State police say the examiner did not determine the cause of Copley’s death, though the preliminary autopsy results did not show any trauma to the remains. A forensic anthropologist will try to determine the cause of Copley’s death.
