On Tuesday, November 22 Grayson County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to reports of a stolen vehicle from Stasel’s Auto Sales in Clarkson.
Upon arrival, deputies found that the suspect test drove a GMC Envoy at the car dealership, had another key made, and returned the vehicle.
Later that night, the suspect returned with the newly made key and drove the car out of town.
Then Wednesday afternoon Grayson County dispatch got a call from Hardin County authorities.
They said an Elizabethtown car dealership had a Ford Explorer go missing.
This time around, the car that was stolen had a GPS inside of it that allowed police to track the suspect’s location.
The vehicle was soon located at the Dollar General Store on KY 259 S and the man they found was the same person suspected of stealing from the Clarkson car dealership.
John Fuston, 39, of Leitchfield was arrested and charged with: Theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, and theft of motor vehicle registration plate.
Fuston is in the Grayson County Detention Center and may also be facing charges in Hardin County.
The investigation is ongoing.
