Authorities say a former police chief in Morganfield has been arrested as a result of a public corruption investigation.
Kentucky State Police said Thursday that Craig Bolds was charged with abuse of public trust along with multiple theft-related counts. The charges stem from a complaint state police received in July regarding possible theft at the Morganfield police department in western Kentucky.
Police say the other charges against the 41-year-old Bolds include theft by failure to make required disposition, theft by unlawful taking under $500 and three counts of theft by unlawful taking of items worth more than $500 but less than $10,000.
Police did not immediately provide details about the charges but did say the investigation is continuing.
