Kentucky State Police have released the name of the woman found murdered in Ohio County over the weekend, but many questions remain unanswered.
Police said the body of 30 year-old Amanda Riley of Livermore was first discovered at the Peabody Wildlife Management area Sunday by a hunter.
The body was taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Madisonville Monday where an autopsy revealed her death was caused by blunt force trauma.
The results of the autopsy changed what was a death investigation, into a murder investigation.
Riley was scheduled to appear in Ohio County Circuit Court Tuesday on drug and burglary charges.
If anyone has any information about the body is asked to call KSP Post 16 at 270-826-3312 or the anonymous tip line at you 800-222-5555.
KSP was assisted on scene by KY Fish and Wildlife, Ohio County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio County EMA’s Office and Ohio County Coroner’s Office.
