Officials say an inmate has died after being found unresponsive in his cell at the Fayette County Detention Center.
The Fayette County Coroner’s Office says staff at the jail discovered 57-year-old Jesse Hopkins unresponsive Tuesday morning and called 911.
He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The coroner’s office says Hopkins appears to have died from natural causes.
An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday.
