Slick roads from Thursday’s (01/05) snowfall may have played a factor in accident on Highway 60 near Sinking Creek Hill that left one person dead and a second person injured.
The accident happened around 1:30 at the Sinking Creek Hill bridge. According to Breckinridge County Sheriff, an eastbound vehicle on 60 apparently slid out of control and into the westbound lane and struck an on-coming vehicle.
The driver of the eastbound vehicle was killed in the wreck, while the other driver was taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital by Breck Central EMS for treatment. A Kentucky State Police re-constructionist was called in to investigate the crash.
The road between Hensley and Highway 333 South was closed for much of the afternoon for clean-up and investigation. Emergency crews also had to deal with vehicles that slid off roads in the area used by drivers to get around the accident scene.
