
A Bowling Green woman was arrested on drug charges after trying to pass a counterfeit bill.
According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Department, they responded to a report of a woman trying to pay for merchandise with a counterfeit $100 bill at the Smiths Grove Travel Center.
Deputies were talking to the suspect, Tammy Alford, and noticed she had slurred speech and repeatedly tried to access her purse that was around her neck.
Deputies searched the purse and found three plastic baggies containing suspected methamphetamine residue. Deputies also found a glass pipe on Alford that contained methamphetamine residue. Police say Alford also admitted that she smoked meth.
Alford was arrested and taken to the Warren County Regional Jail.
Her charges include: Criminal Possession of Forged Instrument First Degree, Possession of Controlled Substance First Degree (First Offense) (Methamphetamine), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Public Intoxication -Controlled Substance.
