The union representing officers of a Kentucky city jail has decided to pursue a no-confidence vote on the corrections director.
News media outlets report the union conducted the vote Tuesday night in connection with Louisville Metro Corrections Director Mark Bolton. The reports say last month, Union President Tracy Dotson filed a dozen grievances alleging forced overtime and involving security and health concerns.
Bolton is also involved in a disagreement with District Judge Stephanie Pearce Burke, who filed a contempt order against him in January.
Bolton previously has defended his direction of the jail, saying it faces historic high inmate populations and a deluge of drug-addicted inmates.
