Police say a 12-year-old was taken from a home on Busy Baker Road Saturday to Jane Todd Crawford Hospital with a single gunshot wound and later was pronounced dead.
Police say the child had been playing with a 13-year-old in the basement of the home when a shot was fired by what was believed to be a toy gun.
The investigation is ongoing by the Kentucky State Police.
