A juvenile is facing arson charges after allegedly causing upwards of $1,000,000 in structural damage to a Monroe County Elementary School.
Kentucky State Police say they responded to a fire Friday, June 2, at Gamaliel Elementary School.
The juvenile has been charged with Arson 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree and Burglary 3rd degree.
Five school employees were working in the school when the blaze began but all were able to make their way to safety and no injuries were reported.
The juvenile was charged and released to her parents.
The fire remains under investigation by a Kentucky State Police investigator and additional charges are expected.
