A Morgantown man is behind bars for possession of a stolen firearm and several other charges.
The Warren County Sheriff’s Office stopped 28 year-old John Paul Waterson on Russellville Road early Saturday morning for careless driving and for having an obstructed license plate.
A firearm was found in the front seat, and an NCIC check revealed that it was stolen.
Waterson was taken into custody and a more thorough check of the vehicle revealed the presence of Methamphetamine and Gabapentin pills.
Waterson was lodged in the Warren County Detention Center.
