A man is behind bars in Logan County after a sheriff’s deputy says he led them on a pursuit.
Just before 8:30 Saturday night, a deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Proctor Mill Road for expired and canceled registration plates.
The driver, 39 year old Chris Garner of Morgantown, failed to stop and led the deputy to a residence on J.R. Williams Road.
When Garner stopped the vehicle, he fled on foot into a wooded area behind the residence.
After a search of the area, Garner was located hiding in a brier patch and was taken into custody.
Garner was arrested for numerous warrants in Logan and Butler counties, and is behind bars in the Logan County Detention Center on several charges.
