Elizabethtown police are making the public aware of bogus jury duty claims.
A city resident was contacted in a voicemail left on their cellphone that they had missed jury duty and were required to pay a fine, according to authorities. Police believe it is a scam intended to defraud residents.
According to a social media post, law enforcement would never request a fine payment by phone.
