The city of West Point in Hardin County is offering a $500 reward in order to track down the person responsible for vandalizing crosses along Dixie Highway.
One of those crosses represents the memory of Officer Donald Williams who was killed by a drunk driver in a head-on collision more than 30 years ago.
He was the first town officer in West Point to lose his life while on duty for over a century.
Ever since then the locals have made his memorial a spot to remember loved ones who lost their lives on the highway.
The highway memorial sustained a lot of damage and a plaque and other decorations were left in pieces.
A second roadside memorial placed at the spot where a woman lost her life in 2010 was completely pulled out and thrown into the nearby wooded area.
